Determining the Value of a Bottle

Bottles vary greatly in value.  Many people have shown me a bottle they own that they found, thinking it valuable when it is actually quite worthless.  First of all, many newer glass bottles have been made, if it has a barcode it is not old at all and usually has less value. Also newer bottles have thinner glass.  Another main way to tell how much a bottle is worth is the size of it.  A seven ounce bottle is usually worth more than say, a twelve ounce bottle.  Also embossed glass opposed to painted glass is usually worth more.  Paper labeled bottles are usually the oldest.  If a bottle is in poor condition it greatly reduces the value of a bottle.  Sometimes you can find bottles that are still full, which is desireable.
